Understanding is a three edged sword,

Its back. Despite AOL's best effort to silence the voice of truth, Marks world is back. AOL decided to eliminate their hosting with no warning. Many lost there websites, files, information and hours of hard work. Not I. Call me paranoid, but I back up everything over the years. Soon, Marks world will be back up in total, so keep checking back. This is not a promise, but a warning!

I don't get it. I really don't. What are they protesting? That the election was rigged, thats not what they are saying. That the electorally college system does not work, no I don't think so, that is not what they are saying either. What are they protesting against?

I think they are just whining that the didn't win, that they didn't get their way. WAAAAAAAAAAA! They seem to be protesting one of the very tenets of our democracy, the electorally process. They are protesting the election results. This is the way we pick our leaders. Trump won. Get over it. If you don't like don't like the way our great country picks it leaders, go somewhere that gives do overs in their politics, or at least protest the the FIRST AMENDMENT.

Don't get me wrong. I believe wholeheartedly in the FIRST AMENDMENT to the CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. All have the right to peaceably assemble. All have the right to voice their opinions. But on what grounds are they protesting the election? They chant that "Trump is not my president", but he won. He is your president elect, unless some improprieties in the election process come out in the future. Then ya got something to protest.

What they seem to be protesting just does not make sense to me. I understand that they may not like the results, but they are what they are. I would be saying the same exact thing if Clinton had won and the Trump backers where doing the same exact thing. Maybe if they weren't turning their peaceful assembles into riots, denying other's FIRST AMENDMENT rights through threats of violence or causing an undo amount of tax money to be spent by their actions I would not be offended by their actions.

You've had your say, you've voiced your opinions, now settle down, accept it. If you don't like it, nominate better candidates, work within the confines of the law to change it so you can get the results you want next time or just go away. Just stop the stupidity and and enjoy the fact that you live in a country where you got away with what you did and the military didn't get the tanks out and run you down.

Three years since my last rant, well since I posted one here. Since my last rant I have seen so many things that have made me mad that I can't even keep track of them. It started in the spring of 2011 with the flooding of the Missouri River. I am not sure of the cost to the people that lived along the river, or the cost to all of the tax payers, but I do know it cost the life of at least one member of the Missouri State Highway Patrol who was doing his job making sure the areas that had to be evacuated along the river were secure. For several months I-35 was shut down for a 50 mile stretch in southern Iowa and northern Missouri, all the river crossings between Saint Joseph Missouri and Omaha Nebraska where shut down due to the flooding, hundreds of miles of farm land along the river lost the 2011 growing season, and this is just a short list of things that affected my directly or that I seen as I travelled the Missouri River Valley here in the Midwest.

The thing that really pisses me of about this is it was totally unnecessary. It did not have to happen. There are controls set in place at the cost of billions of American tax dollars spent over the past 75 years to prevent this. I don't want to hear the crap how there was massive snow fall in the Rocky Mountains in the winter of 2010, a cool summer then more snow in 2011 and then a massive melt off in the spring of 2011. The United States Army Corps of Engineers, who has control of the dams on the river that where put in place for flood control, had this information. They had time to lower the lake levels on the upper Missouri River. But because the Corps is a part of the the gigantic boondoggle that is our government they succumbed to the pressure put on them by the different local entities to keep the lake levels up for economic reasons. An epic fail.

The job of the federal government to provide for the nation services that are on a scale that to large for the states to provide, such as national defense, interstate infrastructure and so on. The flood control dams on the Missouri River should fall right into their wheel house. They dropped the ball on this one. Maybe if the Feds did not spend so much time trying to control every little aspect of the the individual citizen's lives, i.e. Obamacare, left that up to states as our founding fathers intended, they could have caught what was brewing to be a prefect storm, and prevented this. This is just a classic example of how our government has gotten to large to do its intended job.

Is there more to the Missouri River flood of 2011 than this overly simplified rant, yes I'm sure there is. But in a nut shell this is what happened. The facts can not be argued. This could have been prevented. Some one needs to be held accountable for this. I would not be a against someone being brought up on charges of negligent homicide for the death of the State Trooper. Ultimately we only have ourselves to blame I guess. We put the political wanks in office. The machine is broken and we,as people, as a nation, don't replace the broken parts. When we do we send the same faulty pieces back to Washington. I know how to fix this. Its easy. The problem is I am just one vote and it seems most of the time my one vote is wasted, and pisses me off no end.

Well that's it for now. Shouldn't be so long before my next rant, as there is a lot of stuff that makes me mad.

Its been a while, but this rant may provide me with my quote of the year.

"It must have been two cats that did it.....or one big one with a full bladder."

My wife relayed this story to me this morning. She heard two cats having a fight out on our front porch, she opened the door to see what the ruckus was about and both cats scrambled away. When she stepped outside she noticed that it appeared that at least on of them had "mark" his territory. She said that the smell was so bad that "It must have been two cats that did it.....or one big one with a full bladder." The moral of this rant is....if you decide to take on the responsibility of having pets, have the common decency to take care of them.

Finally have all the little bugs worked out on the layout I will use in the near future. You would think with all the work the powers that be put into standardizing html and css it would be a bit more intuitive, at least for the self taught, but it isn't. I'll bet most people don't even realize that there is an consortium charged with developing web standards, so that way all compliant web browsers will render web pages that are written in compliant code the same. For more info on that, go to their web site at

WOW! Been doing some research on website building, and found many useful sites that give tips on how to build one right, short cuts and time saving techniques. So it won't be long till I can get this one going right. In the not to distant future access to my original lame website (that AOL decided to cheap and quit hosting), a forum covering many topics and all the other crap that I want to put out there will be provided. So hang in there people, or person, or web crawlers or what ever has been tripping the hit counter, your perseverance will be rewarded, or punished depending on your point of view.--Imagine that, the previous sentence is an example of understanding being a THE EDGED SWORD.

I'm still here. Just trying to figure out how to say what I have to say without being totally offensive, or risk big brother accusing me of slander. Are you still checking in 8ball?

Someone told me if I don't make time, I wont find the time, so I made the time. The first truth I will discuss is, that no branch of any government that can be trusted, regardless of party affiliation, country, elected, self imposed or any other description they want to use. While there may be individuals within a governing entity that are good by nature, and have only the best intentions at heart, by the very nature of man, of which the entity is made of, the entity itself is and always will be evil with just one sole purpose, existence itself. No other true purpose does the government that mankind sets up serve. As soon as it is possible I will site a first hand example of this and let you decide for your self if I am just a paranoid raving lunatic spouting out my side of the story, or have I really seen the only true cutting edge of the SWORD.

4/13/2009: I've not forgotten about the Sword, just have not had time to update yet. There have been great constraints placed on my time. One of the things that has taken much of my time is one of the truths that I will expound upon in the near future, perhaps the first one.

Remember when the Internet was new, and there were personal home pages everywhere. Well, this site will hearken back to those days. But there will be some updates. What is to come soon is my old web page with the "old school" feel to it with some of the more modern features. If you remember my old site {all 3 of you who seen it}, your saying to yourself, "Ya, right". But well see.
Check back often as the reconstruction of this page has no schedule, design, plan or end game other than helping you to ask yourself the questions that will guide you to true understanding.
